Hi, I have a common error. I cannot run workbench, when I try it, the following message appears
Â
Â
Â
An unexpected error has occurred: The following required addins could not be loaded: Ans.SceneGraphChart.SceneGraphAddin. The software will exit.
--- System.AggregateException: The following required addins could not be loaded: Ans.SceneGraphChart.SceneGraphAddin. The software will exit.

I have tried all of things that I have read on this forum
Â
- I have updated the graphics card and the drivers. I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
- I have verified that the graphics card used for ansys is the NVIDIA
- I have renamed the %APPDATA%Ansys to %APPDATA%Ansys_old
- I have created a new windows user with only English characters and I configured English language on windows
- I have uninstalled Ansys with the uninstaller and I have reinstalled it several times, also with the new user. I have verified all of times that I have deleted all of Ansys folders before reinstalling it again.
- I have rebooted my PC many occasions after doing some process
Â
I have tried but workbench doesn't work... the same error is appeared. And the most frustrating thing is that at first, Workbench worked perfectly for me, but I don't know at what point it stopped working and since then I always get this error. The version of ansys that I have installed all of time is Ansys Student 2020 R1, from official web https://www.ansys.com/academic/free-student-products
Â
Â
Â
I urgently need a solution because I have to use Ansys for my degree thesis.
Â
Thanks in advance.Â

Ansys EmployeeThank you for the detailed descriptions and searching past threads !
Have you tried anything related to security on the machine yet ? I'd recommend to try another fresh reinstall while all security (anti-virus, threat protection, firewall, etc.) is disabled
Also, check for the Windows update history and see if you can uninstall or revert back to the date when you didn't have this issue.
Thanks,
Win

SubscriberThank you very much Win, I am very grateful that you answered me!
And excuse for my ignorance, but how can I do the both solutions that you are saying?
On the one hand, how do I make sure that everything related to security is disabled?
On the other hand, how can I check for the Windows update history and revert back to the date? If it's of any use, I know more or less the date when it worked.
Thanks for all Win, I hope your answer

Ansys EmployeeHi Falencio,
For the first question, that depends on what you have on the machine. On a bare machine, you would have Windows Defender suite running. In that case you can open the Windows Defender Security Center. Then go through all the settings, especially those in Virus and Threat Protection and Firewall to turn them off (please note the change as it's best you undo all these after finished) .
For the second question, you can use the "Search Windows' box to search for the term Windows Update, it should lead you to the page that has 'Check for updates' button and Advanced options. Click on the Advanced options -> View Your Update History , it will show the list there. Then, it depends on what were installed and how to undo it (uninstall/revert back). This point, you may need to google how to undo these specific, installed updates. This is pretty tedious/cumbersome. But otherwise, you would have to reformat the machine.
Thanks,
Win

I also went through many other posts but nothing worked
I have used ansys for almost 2 years now without any major problems
This is some new problem that i have never encountered
Please help!!

Ansys EmployeeSo you were using the tools just fine, then one day you started it up and started seeing this issue ?
Any change on the machine that you remember happened around that same time ?
Check if Windows Update was installed around that time as well.

SubscriberActually, I took a break of about a 2-3 months
There have been many updates in those months.
Is it because of the updates??? -

Ansys EmployeeYou can try the following command in CMD Prompt
move "%appdata%ansys" "%appdata%ansys.old"
but if that doesn't work, it's possible that one/some of these windows updates were not installed successfully and causes some issue in Windows system files, which can cause this error in Workbench.

SubscriberYes, updating graphics drivers was the first solution that I found on this forum and have already updated all drivers. It didn't help solve the issue
I have Intel HD Graphics 360 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
