Hi guys, as my first project ever in Ansys i want to push a cylinder to the ground and evaluate the grounds deformation, tension etc. Everything works fine, the solution looks comprehensible. The only problem i have is that i dont want the cylinder to deform, so it is supposed to be a rigid body. When i right click on „zylinder“ -> stiffness behavior -> rigid and then on solve, i get the following error message: „rigid bodies are invalid as a geometry selection“. Since i’m a total beginner in Ansys, neither do i understand why this is a problem, nor do i know a solution on how to get the cylinder to be rigid.
I’d be grateful for ideas on how to solve my problem! Sorry for grammar mistakes, i’m not a native speaker

Ansys EmployeeHi,
I assume you have contact defined between the cylinder and the ground. When defining contact between a rigid and a flexible body, the rigid body must always be the target side and the flexible body must always be the contact side. Contact quantities such as contact pressure etc. are calculated only on the contact side and hence the contact side has to be flexible.
Hope this helps,
Sai
