Error occuring while importing spaceclaim geometry into fluent meshing 2022

      Hey guys!

I've just installed the newest student package of Ansys including Spaceclaim, fluent, fluent-meshing ... Unfortunately, an error message occurs while importing the geometry into fluent-meshing. The error message stays for different geometries the same. I tried to reinstall the whole Ansys package and cleaned up my registry. Nothing helped so far...

After preparing my geometry as shown in a tutorial by Ansys, I'll get the following error:

      Error: Error in CAD Import

      Error Object: #f

      Error: Error occurred during import.

      Error Object: #f

Error: Importing the selected file could not be completed. Check to make sure that the selected file format is supported. In addition, check to make sure the CAD Readers are properly configured for the format using the CAD Configuration Manager utility.

      Error Object: #f

      Looking forward to your answers!

What type of Geometry are you trying to import?
      Supported Geometry Import:
      Neutral format import IGES, STEP
      Parasolid (native within Ansys DesignModeler)

      I followed this step-by-step tutorial: /courses/index.php/courses/wind-blade-analysis-for-wind-power-using-ansys-fluent/lessons/geometry-lesson-3-23/
The original geometry is saved as STEP

Check for spaces and odd characters in the file name and path. Fluent Meshing doesn't like either. Mapped network drives can also be problematic depending on whether the mapped drive has spaces etc in it.

Double checked that as well and the error still remains. I saved the geometry file and the whole project folder onto my desktop in a separate folder. I had issues with the 2021 Version also, which is the reason I've installed the newest version. In an older version than 2021, everything worked fine (workbench workflow and fluent itself).
I've tried to redo the steps with the design modeler. The problem remains...
I also tried to import a geometry that I used in an older version. The error is the same...
      Any ideas...?

Can you try from C:\userid\ansys or similar? I'm not sure what the path for Desktop is.

Tried to open it directly from C:\Ansys but the error remains...
I am going to reinstall it once again with a fresh download from the website. I'll keep you updated.

Thanks. Test with a "simple" cube straight from SpaceClaim to Fluent Meshing too.

It seems like I fixed the problem. I changed the installation from D:\ (SATA) to C:\ (SSD) where windows is installed too.
But I don't know why this helped...
Anyways, thank you for your help!

There will have been a path issue with the scripts somewhere. Good to hear it's all working.
