Hello,

I am attempting to couple Ansys Rocky 2024 R2 with Ansys Fluent 2024 R2. 

I am using the tutorial accessible via Rocky Interface → Help → Tutorial Workshops → 14. Tutorial - Fluidized Bed, which mentions that a mesh validation step occurs immediately after the .cas file import (section 14.2.14 in the tutorial). However, I encountered the following error: "Error during mesh validation."

Could you please advise on the potential cause of this error?

Have you installed the Ansys Rocky additional package update? 

This is the first thing you should try. 

 

If installing this version does not work, I would recommend you uninstalling all Ansys products, deleting the v242 folder and reinstalling them (with this additional package for Rocky).

We have unpacked the additional package ROCKY_ADDITIONAL_PACKAGE_2024R2.01_LINX64.zip.

Is it possible to specify its location from the ROCKY GUI in order to use it to solve my problem?

If not, could you please let me know what steps are required to enable its use?

Oh, I am sorry. For Rocky 2024 R2 you don't need any extra package. 

 

Please go through the following: 

• uninstall all your Ansys Products and delete the v242 folder
• install Ansys Products again (including Fluent)
• install Ansys Rocky after installing Fluent with all the coupling checkboxes enabled

If you still get the error after this, upload some screenshots here to continue this discussion.
