EDT 2021R1 usually crashes when switching from local to RDP or vice versa

After upgrading to EDT2021R1 I see it with persistent regularity. EDT 2021R1 usually crashes when switching from local to RDP or vice versa. In may happen not immediately, but it will happen. If it was successful in finishing simulation, it will crash when pushing "save".

Usually I start a simulation in out lab, then go home and check the parameter sweep progress remotely. That is when it crashes. The same happens when starting it in RDP, and then checking it from local session the other day.

We appreciate your patience on this.
We tried to simulate the said scenario at our side and could not notice any such issue.
It looks like the issue is not from the tool. Please check your network and system settings.
      All the very best.

you need to work a little. just loading the project will not reveal it. it must be running and edited sequentially on both machines. I have almost guaranteed crash when coming home in a few minutes after opening RDP session and turning the model, or editing plots. So the first thing I do now is re-saving the project... but it is not possible if computation is running.
Windows10 20H2. I suspect some desktop composition system incompatibility.
I have Quadro RTX 5000 with 461.55 quadro drivers installed.

In 2020R1 it was not that frequent, or I would say I've seen almost no RDP-related crashes.

How the network, for all the saints, can cause a crash of HFSS, when it was not even desconnected or changed!? Please, analyze your suggestions before offering them.

Can you give more details on what you actually mean by "running and edited sequentially on both machines" as stated in your post.
      Best regards

I.e. If I just connect to Remote Desktop (win10 vs. win10, default configuration), and touch nothing - it will run and run and run untill completion.
But if I start lets say in Desktop mode, and edit it, and then connect to RDP and keep modifying plots, rotate the model in the model view, eventually it will crash. It may crash even when the simulation has already finished. The prerequisite is that EDT2021R1 was started in different to the current session mode; i.e. started as desktop, and crashed as RDP, and vice versa. And the project should be viewed and/or edited continuously; if not, nothing happens.
I see nothing alike when working only in one session mode. So when possible, I have to save(if it does not crash that moment), and restart EDT in order to not crash the active project.

My guess, is that it may be related to desktop composition which changes when connecting to RDP. I.e. dpi scaling may be switched by Windows etc. which may disrupt the 3D editor operation.
