SubscriberHello,
I have an anlytical Model of a specific motor, based on saturated Magnet Equivalent Circuit(MEC). This analytical Model computes the Ld, Lq values. I need to validate this model by comparing the values obtained by FEM(Ansys Maxwell).
I am wokring with transient solution of Maxwell 2D to compute dq inductance. As show in the below figure I found the values of Ld, Lq. The problem is I am getting values from ansys maxwell different form analytically computed one. May be because FEM is a non linear solution(with BH curve). I cannot do a linear solution in maxwell, because if I do so I have very high flux density near the bridges of rotor in my motor.
How can I compute dq axis inductance from Ansys Maxwell which could be nearly equal to values obtained by analytical model.
Any suggestion from your side will be helpful. Thanks.

Forum ModeratorHi @hamzafarooq FEA simulation using Ansys Maxwell takes into account the nonlinearities of the materials and provides you with accurate results.
Why do you want to make the FEA results match the analytical calculation which does not consider material nonlinearities into account- In which case the results from analytical calculation are not correct anyway?
You may get the results matching to the linear analytical model only when you are operating in the linear portion of the BHcurve(below the knee point) in all parts of your machine.
If I did not interpret your problem correctly. Please explain with relevant information.

Subscriberhello I don't know how to compute q and d inductance in Ansys Maxwell. Could you please tell me about this problem??
Best regard.
