SubscriberI am simulating flow past bluff body. I have created a flow domain(1) and a bluff body. To capture vortex shed from body, I need finer mesh near bluff body and so i created another small domain (2). I did boolean to subtract the bluff body from two domains created. Now the second domain(2) is considered by fluent as 'wall-solid'. I am able to run the simulation and get results for sphere but I am not sure what I am doing is correct or not.

Ansys EmployeeYes, your approach is correct. Please refer to the following course, where similar conditions are used, and in particular, check the mesh lesson.Â

Forum ModeratorDomain 2 should be bounded by interior: I assume you used Share Topology?Â

SubscriberI did not explicitly give a shared topology option. I will go back and see geometry and mesh again. Thanks for your response.Â

Forum ModeratorJust to clarify. If domain 2 is a body of influence it doesn't need to be linked to the main geometry, if it's been subtracted/split then it does with share topology. The videos/course should cover this.Â

SubscriberReally helpful- I was trying shared topology yesterday but it did not show any shared region. I am using domain 2 as body of influence for finer mesh. Thanks for your reply.Â
