Using EDC to simulate the combustion problem of pulverized coal with 1/4 symmetric furnance and 70w meshes
Some people on the internet are using single precision to simulate pulverized coal combustion, while some are using double precision to simulate pulverized coal combustion.I'm confused, from an empirical point of view, should I choose single or double precision?
Can you help with suggestions?
Thank you very much for your answer and help! -

Hi,
Â
Both single and double precision option is available for EDC model in Fluent. You can choose either or these solver types. If you use double precision, it will reduce the round off error . I would recommend using double precision for combustion simulations.

Please go through the section 4.1.2.2. Single-Precision and Double-Precision Solvers in 4.1. Starting Ansys Fluent
