SubscriberHi recently, I actually plan to get a new laptop for my study and I would like to know whether this laptop is good to start for Ansys software learning.
Here is the spec:- AMD Ryzen™ 7 processor
- Windows 11 Home
- 16.1" diagonal FHD display 144 Hz refresh rate
- NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4070 Laptop GPU
- 512 GB PCIe® Gen4 NVMe™ TLC M.2 SSD Hard drive
- 16 GB DDR5-5600 MHz RAM
- Backlit Keyboard, Bang & Olufsen, True Vision 1080p FHD camera
Thanks in advance.

Forum ModeratorWe can only really point you at https://www.ansys.com/it-solutions/platform-support for what hardware is supported. Note, if something isn't on the list that means it's not tested, it doesn't necessarily mean it won't work.
In more general terms, you need RAM & SSD for running Mechanical jobs, and RAM for Fluent. Most laptops have more cpu cores than Student has parallel licences (you get 4 at present) so that tends not to be an issue. From experience with my home PC (so a personal comment, not Ansys related) 512GB may be a little small once you've installed Win11 and a few games! Our work PCs (Ansys comment) have twin 1GB SSDs and we're generally running at around 80% disc capacity - C: has all the software & D: is where all my work/files is kept. No comment re backlit keyboards, I turn lights on when I can't see the buttons.....
