Do I need to read case file and relauch FLUENT to make PBM work

      Hello dear ANSYS community.

I am trying to use population balance model (PBM) in ANSYS FLUENT 2019R2.

I am following this guide for FLUENT 14.0. On page 13 of the guide it is stated the following:

When using the population balance model, the settings do not get applied to the solver. In order to get appropriate results, you need to exit ANSYS FLUENT and read the case file in a new session (so that the settings are applied).

I checked the user manual for my version of ANSYS FLUENT 2019R2 and nothing is mentioned there about PBM not working without relaunching FLUENT.

So, I was wondering if I need to create a case a file, relaunch FLUENT and read the case file into it? Or this bug has been already fixed and I may not worry about it and proceed with the calculation?

In case the bug is already fixed - can I ask you to explicitly mention it in the new user's manuals please (I'm addressing this question to the admins obviously). It's very confusing.

      Thank you in advance.

Please post the questions in appropriate category. Moving this question to other category to get better response.

      moving to fluid dynamics category.

i am not sure if pbm is included in student version. experts may comment.

PBM is included as Addon Module

      Thank you @kkande and @abenhadj.

Regarding the category: I am pretty sure that my choice of category was correct. I was asking how to make FLUENT include PBM into the simulation. Getting a model ready to run is a part of prepocessor. Anyways, even if you've moved it to "Fluid dynmaics" I don't care as long as it helps me to get an answer.

Regarding whether it is included into student version or not. I know that it is included. I didn't ask about that. As I indicated in my post (may be not clear) - I am using PBM in FLUENT. I am at the point where I've set up everything and the only thing I have left to do is to hit the "calculate" button. Again, as I indicated in my post (please reread it) - if I hit the "calculate" button in ANSYS 14.0 it wouldn't be using PBM during the calculation. ANSYS 14.0 required to close FLUENT and then relaunch it to include PBM. It was a bug obviously.

I am asking whether or not this bug exists in ANSYS FLUENT 2019R2. Can I just hit the "calculate" button or should I go through the entire procedure indicated in the ANSYS 14.0 guide to overcome the bug?
If you are not sure about the guide - I gave the link in my original post and indicated that the explanation of the bug is on the page 13. I even cited the bug explanation in my original post.

      Thank you.

      Should work. Report if not.
