I have attached an image of a wing model, with multiple surfaces protruding from the upper surface (called minitabs). Fluent created a shadow boundary as well (minitab, minitab-shadow) since it is a surface (solid-fluid). I want to assign a dynamic mesh zone for both the wing and the minitab surface which will deform based on the flow and the structure properties.Â
Ideally, later on, I want to dynamically change the boundary type of the minitab from a wall to interior after a certain number of timesteps, to simulate the minitab being stowed midflight, but then the minitab-shadow boundary will vanish and I will get an error with the dynamic mesh zone of the minitab-shadow not existing.Â
Hence my question, would it be fine if i just assign the dynamic mesh zone to the 'minitab' boundary and not the 'minitab-shadow' and not cause any issue at a later time step when i change the minitab to interior?

Sharan,Â
yes you will need to assign the same Dynamic Mesh settings for both the minitab and shadow zones. When switching this pair of wall/shadow zones to interior, you should also remove their corresponding DM settings to avoid the error
