SubscriberThe computer configuration is 2 CPUs, 96 cores.ANSYS use DMP mode to solve the finish, the result merge takes a long time, if force close and open again is not right.SMP mode can solve, but the solution speed is very slow. SMP mode can be solved, but the solution speed is very slow. The same number of cores in the case of DMP speed is 4 times the speed of SMP.

Ansys EmployeeDMP calculation is generally faster for the numerical calculations and is the default recommendation.
A drawback to DMP can be the amount of time it takes to merge result files. This result file merge time is often small compated to calculation time of large modes that may take hours or days to solve.
This is why it is important to have fast disk systems, usually SSDs or HPC file systems.

There are two really good sections in the Ansys Help that I consider prerequisite reading when you get some time:Mechanical APDL > Performance Guide Performance Guide (ansys.com)
and
Mechanical APDL > Parallel Processing Guide. Parallel Processing Guide (ansys.com)
