Discrete phase model (DPM) – how to track? (Fluent)

Hello there! I try to simulate transient water droplets flow like DPM particles flying in the air (inert particles). There's 2 questions:

      1. How to get .trk file? The calculation is over and I want to get particles trajectctories in results (ansys workbench 2020R1). There's button "particle tracking" but it doesn't work without browsing .trk file. I hope thi file need to be exported from fluent, but fluent partickle track export have no exporting .trk files, only different formats. I want to get tracks like on this screenshot.
      2. How to calculate mass of particles came to outlet? The solution is - simple pipe with inlet and outlet. I want to count mass or volume of water that came to outlet, but in the results "calcu?f

If the solution is coupled you can report particle mass via the Report Definitions. Otherwise use the DPM Sample/Summary options in Reporting. CFD Post (Results) can be a little tricky with Fluent particles - I suggest doing the post processing in Fluent.

Thank you. And can u help me with another question? How to show partickle trajectories in the CFD Post? Where can i find this .trk file or how to export it from fluent?

If the tracks are coupled there's an export option under the File menu.
I've not used the feature since about R15 other than for an occasional tutorial as I've pretty much always done all post processing in Fluent.

Ok, but this don't work, there's no export file with .trk format. I'll try to make post processing in fluent, it's very hard for me after using CFD Post =( But thi is strange that the only thing CFD Post need is .trk file that can't be exported from fluent.

Do a few of the tutorials that are in the Fluent Help. Particle tracking is pretty much a case of open "Particle Tracking" panel in Results, pick an injection and display. Save case & data first!

Thanks a lot for your help! Also yesterday i found that partickle tracking button in cfd-post (near another buttons like countur or vector) is not compared with fluent at all. that's why there's no way to export .trk file from fluent. TRK format exporting from polyflow i believe.

Yes, there is an odd feature in CFD Post where Fluent particles are different to CFX. A lot of the historic Fluent users stayed with Fluent post processing when we first got CFD Post, and we've since moved some of the CFD Post features into Fluent to take advantage of parallel post processing so many are either continuing as before or moving back to Fluent post: we teach Fluent post now too.
