SubscriberHello.
I would like to perform a topological optimization in discovery.
On an aluminum part, I have two loads. A horizontal load of 14 KN (F1) and a vertical load of 5 KN (F2). These two loads are at different locations (See attached image).
My part is constrained either by F1 or by F2 (never simultaneously), but I want the study to take into account both loads to optimize the design.
In this case how should I set up the simulation?
Thank in advance for your reply.

Forum ModeratorHi Philippe,Â
Here you will have to do multiload test case setup and do the topology optimization. You can refer this Topology Optimization, Getting Started | Ansys Courses where we have shown step by step guide to do this.Â
Thank you,
DevendraÂ

Subscriberhello Devendra.
Thank a lot for your reply.
I have another question: I've set up test cases and variations as explained in the video.
First question:
it shows me for physics (F1). How do I switch to (F2) or (F3)? For example, I would like to check my displacement under load (F2).Second question:
it tells me that the current display is test 3. again, how do you switch to test 2 or test 1?Thanks in advance for your reply.
Philippe.

Forum ModeratorHi Philiippe,Â
Topology optimization uses all the load cases in the Test Cases tab to create the optimized body. So you can't select test cases because they are all used by default. If you toggle top opt off you'll notice that you can then select specific test cases.
For your case, what you can do is suppress or manually make the other loadings as 0N and then run a topology optimization study.Â
This might be a good enhancement request and will raise it to product team. To allow the user to select which test cases to use, rather than using them all by default. For now, you'll have to only include the test cases you want in the Test Cases tab.
Let me know if you have further questions.Â
Regards,
Devendra
