Discovery SpaceClaim Not Opening

      Hi Support,

       

      We have a customer who is having issues opening Discovery SpaceClaim. The issue is when double clicking on the icon you see the little blue wheel over the cursor and then nothing loads.

       

      Things we have tried :-

      • Running as Admin 
      • Clearing all relevant spaceclaim/ansys data from appdata > user > LOCAL and ROAMING and also looked in other appdata folders and found nothing.
      • Updated graphics Drivers 
      • Installed legacy SpaceClaim 2019 and this also has the same issue.
      • Discovery Live also doesn't load
      • Tried to open from file explorer - C:Program FilesANSYS Incv201scdm
      • Tried to open direct from Command prompt
      • Uninstalling and re-installing 
      • resetting PC

      Other things do load fine from the spaceclaim installation such as the SpaceClaim viewer application and also the converter.exe 

       

      User is running Windows 10 and machine specs seem fine.

       

      Any ideas? Could a web session potentially be arranged as we are a bit stuck for ideas.

      No neither Discovery or standard SpaceClaim loaded from being installed.

      Were you able to solve the problem? Even to me sometimes double clicking does not open SpaceClaim.

      Hi Roberto,

      From what I remember I believe they ended up having to do system restore or revert. It's been a while so I can't quite remember what solved it in the end.

      I have another client with the same problem, is there a way to start the software without formatting the pc? It is not a nice solution to have to format the PC to be able to start SpaceClaim

        I inform you
        We started windows in safe mode and the software works, while if you start windows in normal mode it doesn't work.
        Windows appears to be blocking a ddl

        Naresh Patre Could we get diagnostic files and the %APPDATA%SpaceClaim and %APPDATA%Discovery logs, also %TEMP%Discovery logs.

      Contacted my rep about the same problem and they told me to post in the discovery forum. Nothing works for me either. Even tried a brand new machine.
