Hello all together,

I hope to get your support in my issue with the simulation progress in Discovery live.

I am using the manifold model downloaded from ANSYS Learning and got stuck at the start of the simulation.

After starting the simulation, my GPU: RTX A4000 has 80% load and Discovery Live is responsive and shows that the simulation is solving. But after 2 hours of such state, nothing happend und I don't see the results. The simulation symbol's border stays yellow , which indicates that it is still solving...

It is my first try. Is something wrong with the GPU or the drivers? I have installed the last version of production drivers.

I am using Ansys Discovery 2024 R1.

Looking forward to hear any ideas, how to solve it.

Hello Vasyl, 

Can you please try opening the new Discovery session and try runnning any sample models? Also, does it give any error when it is stopped or paused in between?

Thank you, Devendra. I have opened some samples and their simulations were working fine. I am glad about that. But it seems that the geometry of the manifold is bad. I checked the geometry with Discovery tool and it showed some problems with it. Look at the picture:

But when I open the same SCDOC file of the manifold, it shows the geometry fine and SpaceClaim’s geometry check found no errors.

Is it a bug? Maybe this is the reason why the simulation does not work.

Hello Vasyl, 

It looks like problem with this specific model in Discovery 2024 R1 version. You can open the file in SpaceClaim, save it as .stp and open it in Discovery 2024R1.
