SubscriberHello Ansys Discovery team,
I wanted to test the Ansys discover so I can make a decision if it is suitable for my team, but I came with this issue.
I downloaded the Discovery and SpaceClaim zip files, them I unzipped them and now when I run the setup.exe as an administrator nothing will happen, I even ran it through the command prompt and did a full reset but no operation starts when I run the program (task manager shows no process running), additionally I downloaded the Discovery compatibility utility which when I run it a window comes up with the following message "error encountered while opening discovery compatibility utility"Â , I'm not quite sure if that means that my computer is not compatible with Discovery.Â
I'm using Windows 10 64bit on a Macbook pro I7-9750h 16gb Ram, ADM 4gb Graphics card, I currently have around 16gb of Rom memory available, my thinking is that I could need more than that but if that was the issue at least the setup.exe should execute. I would like someone to assist me with this issue on the phone preferred since I need to test the program ASAP, you can call me at 786-868-6801, if not then you can please email me back to humbertor17engineer@gmail.com. thank you in advance.
Â
Best regards,
Humberto Romero.

Ansys EmployeeHello Humbertor17
I went through your problem and suspect that the setup.exe might be getting blocked on your machine. Can you try disabling Windows Firewall and Antivirus and try running setup.exe in admin mode and see if that helps?

SubscriberHello Naresh Patre ,
Â
Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem, I did turn off all the firewall and antivirus options I have. What should I do now? I appreciate your prompt responseÂ

Ansys EmployeeHello Humbertor17
I don't recall seeing this issue before, so I currently don't have any options to suggest. I will have to check with the development team on this.
Meanwhile, are you seeing the same issue with the setup.exe file for Discovery installer as well as SpaceClaim installer?Â
Were you able to install any other (non-Ansys) products successfully?
Can you run dxdiag.exe from Windows start menu, and once the panel opens up click "Save all information", save it and send the files to ansys-discovery-support@ansys.com?

SubscriberHello Naresh Patre ,
I do have installed some other (non-Ansys) products successfully, the issue is replicating with both the Discovery and the SapceClaim installer. As requested I'm sending you the dxdiag.exe to the email mentioned, thank you.

Ansys Employeeupdate from installation team:
Several of us joined Humberto on WebEx and couldn't get the setup.exe to start. We've recommended finding a way to disable the Defender services. This may be something specific to the Windows on Mac setup. An alternative was to purchase a windows system.

SubscriberHi there. I have this same installation problem with HP ZBook Furu 17 G7. I used to have trial version before and that worked. Now when I have uninstalled trial and trying installed actual version I could not do that.

I see that you have posted a separate question for your issue, so I would request you to continue your discussions through that question.
