SubscriberI just had Discovery 2021R2 installed on my PC. Explorer is not running due to message:
Â
I ran the recommended compatibility check utility and the results below don't suggest it's a GPU problem:
ANSYS Discovery relies on the latest GPU technology to provide its computation and visual experience. Â To run the software, you will require:
A dedicated NVIDIA GPU card (Quadro recommended) based on the Kepler, Maxwell or Pascal architecture. Maxwell 2000 or better strongly recommended. Most dedicated NVIDIA GPU cards produced in 2013 or later will be based on one of these architectures.
At least 4GB of video RAM (8GB preferred) on the GPU.
The Discovery Compatibility Checker results are as follows:Graphics device is compatible with Discovery.

SubscriberHello Kamel AlKhalil
It looks like your graphic cards are not compatible with the Discovery Explore mode. I will still confirm once. Support for the NVIDIA GeForce GT 740 card has been dropped due to planned obsolescence.Â
I will confirm once and get back to you.Â

SubscriberIt sounds like the final answer would be that it is not compatible. While we want to limit the budget to around $1000, we found this replacement card:
PNY NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000 8GB GDDR6 Graphic Card
Is this compatible for sure with Discovery 2021R2 (thermal and mechanical)?
