Different Gap values in the final result

      Hi everyone

Is it possible to get two different Gap values for the contact side and target side in a simulation. I am doing a structural simulation and getting a gap value of -1.006 mm for the contact side and 0.00138 mm for the target side.

      Kind regards

      Subhav Goel

      Hi Subhav,

Can you share the screenshot of the contact settings you are using? Are you using a contact tool to calculate the gap results?

      Thanks,

      Akshay Maniyar

        Hi Akshay

I am using the contact tool in the solution tab

Please find the screenshots for all of them attached below:

Since the screenshots are in German here are some translations for your ease:

        Reibungsfrei - frictionless

        Ziel - Target

        Geschlossen - closed

        Kind regards

      Hi Subhav,

Sorry for the delay. It looks like you have used interface treatment as 'Adjust to touch' which is causing the issue. Try to use 'Add offset, no ramping' or 'Add offset, ramped effect' and then check the results.

Please check the below Ansys help for more details.

      Thanks,
