SubscriberI was simulating a compression test of a porous structure in the Static structural module keeping the bottom end fixed and applying displacement (for example 0.1%) at the top surface. I am trying to calculate the reaction force at the top surface, and the reaction force will be used to calculate stress at the top surface and then modulus of elasticity. However, I am getting much higher reaction forces than the experiment. For example: for 10% strain, the load in the experiment was 26 N, but in the simulation, I am getting a reaction force of 820 N at the top surface. Can anyone suggest to me what to do now?

Ansys Employee,nThe geometry looks pretty intricate, have you performed convergence studies on your mesh? Also, are you certain that the material model you are using is correct? nIshan. nMarch 8, 2021 at 2:44 ammasud407
SubscriberI am not sure about my material model. I need to incorporate the anisotropic material for this. Can you please tell me what information do I need to incorporate the anisotropic material properties?nViewing 3 reply threads- The topic ‘Differences in Simulation result in compression test’ is closed to new replies.
