SubscriberHi nI need to model a modular steel building for the purpose of examining its collapse resistance and mechanisms, which is a highly dynamic and non-linear event.nnCould you please advise what are the main differences between Static Structural and Transient Structural in Ansys Mechanical? nIf i create a model in both how will they differ? nHow do they each assess non-linear and dynamic analysis's?Also i wish to create a replica of a structural model that was created by LS-DYNA in a previous study, how does this compare against Static Structural and Transient Structural. What are the differences? This will be used in part for validation of my model.nn -

SubscriberNeither can I.nHere is what you can do. First open ANSYS Help. You can do that from Workbench or Mechanical or even the Windows Start menu. Once a Browser window is open with the ANSYS help system, carefully copy the text below, then paste the text into the ANSYS Help Browser window Address Bar.nhttps://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v201/en/wb_sim/ds_static_mechanical_analysis_type.htmlnnhttps://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v201/en/wb_sim/ds_transient_mechanical_analysis_type.htmln -

SubscribernMickMack, you read my initial post, then I decided to figure out a clean method that delivers the plain text URL for pasting into the browser. Reread my post above now that I have changed the post.n -

SubscriberThank you for the information provided, based on this i can discern the differences between the static and transient structural analysis'.nnTo close out this query can you provide information on how a transient structural analysis will differ from one carried out with LS-DYNA?n -

Forum ModeratorThanks for pointing this out, It seems like I was not able to click on the links either. I will check the logistics internally to rectify that.nhttps://www.dynasupport.com/faq/general/what-are-the-differences-between-implicit-and-explicit here is another link for you for the difference between Transient and LS-Dyna!n-AniketnHow to access Ansys help linksnGuidelines for Posting on Ansys Learning Forumn
