SubscriberI have been trying to set up a preliminary RBD analysis of an engine rotary assembly as first step towards detailed further analysis of the crankshaft. The RBD setup is fully rigid and joint based with a parameterised rotational load for various RPM. The combustion forces are time/angle variable and I have used the Add-on to read csv tables in that are revised by an excel macro on the opening of each design study. I need the Step end time and the time step to responsively adapt to the RPM (end time =120/RPM, and timestep = 1/6*RPM).
I managed this last week because it was the gateway to further automation but didn't make a note of it and lost the project in a crash. Since the excel was saved locally and the assembly was also saved outside the workbook this was mostly achived but I cannot recreate the step contol automation. I have tried other methods since but have had to revert to manually opening each design point and carefully updating.
My understanding of the problem is that RBD analysis settings cannot recognise parameters. I must have managed to find a workaround that created some sort of reference within the model that was updated by a parameter value (might have been a second version of the joint rotation). Maybe variable manager was involved?Â
