1. As Part of an AQWA simulation, while modelling 1000 m pipe in design modeler, unable to form single line elemnt. Then i tried with 10 line sketches and still while forming line from sketches, it is taking only up to maximum 500m. why is it so? 

2. One more issue that I faced is while extruding large distance it was not taking. for example 10 m dia pipe 1000 m length. unable to model the same as line element also.

Hi Nasma

DesignModeler has an default limit of 1 km 'bounding box' where are geometry has to be within this box.  So that is +/- 500 m in each x/y/z direction.  Which is why it fails to extrude more that 500 m in one direction.

In Tools -> Options; Units you can turn On the 'Large Model Support' which changes the bounding box to I think 10 km sides; 1000 km^3 total volume if I remember correctly.

thanks for your reply. After changing to large model support i am unable to create 100o pipe, as a diffracting body it is taking 500 m only. as a line body also same. I wonder how people model such large structures in deep water

Check the menu -> Units -> Large Model Support; make sure this is checked 'ON'.  Prior to creating any geometry.  I just tried in 2020R1 and it works for me (am able to create a 2000 meter line).

Thank you. It worked for me. Only thing change the settings well before creating the geometric model
