SubscriberDear Ansy Community i need some help regarding to design modeler geometry.
1.First how to extrude a surface and body simultaneously in design modeler. Or tell me other way to extrude surface and body together. It works in solidworks but i am wondering how to do it in design modler.
2. I want to make rectangular box placed the one face of the outer box. (Like i want to create two different walls meeting one another or A small face on larger face.) My concern is the matching of small interface with larger interface.
How to make this in ansys design modeler.
Thanks in advance
Regards

SubscriberIf you have SolidWorks, create the solid bodies to be just as you want, Save As Parasolid, then in DesignModeler, File > Import External Geometry File.

Forum ModeratorIn DM you'd extrude the end face of the volume: depending on state (frozen or unfrozen) the new body will automatically unite with the original. There are several very good YouTube videos covering the basics (and more advanced) DesignModeler operations: I'd advise starting there.Â

SubscriberThanks Rwoolhou for coming again on my post.
Actually i am interesting to ask how much distance i need to keep between two faces so that when i extrude them it looks like one face is placed on another. 1.Actually i want to extrude a triangular pattern together with circle. After extruding its look like that patterns is placed on the cylinder not intersecting with one another. So i want to know about this. I have been some learning from youtube videos and currently also doing. But less information like imported geometries etc.Since you are expert people like peter, you, abenhadj and many more doing great work for beginners like us. you may help me in short time.
2. The patterns have width and height 50×50 micrometers. And circle radius is 6mm how much distance i had to keep so that pattern is look like placed on the face of the cylinder after extruding. After that in fluent i want to do interface matching so that fluid goes in patterns. This is actually i want to do. Second thing there are many patterns placed on the cylinder with equal distance between them of 50 micrometers. So my questions is when i create patterns it form a lot of bodies. How to make them as one body. Should i use unite boolen operation? Or form a new part? And giving me message you are extending with bodies limit a license is needed.Â
one more question how to attach fluent file here I need to ask one question more about region command and system specification for running the simulation.ide me in this case after watching the fluent file.

Ansys Employeei think you need to user share topology option in dm.Â
you can select different bodies in model tree - right click - form a new part.
