SubscriberHi,Â
I want to enter the numbers for the failure criteria for a orthotropic material in the ansys apdl.(stress and strain limits)
There are two options for this:
1-
Â
2-
Â
Web resulOrthotropic material in the ansys apdl.
Which option is for stress and strain limits definition for a  orthotropic material?

SubscriberI would probably refers to non metal plasticity, and the other might be more general.
Since you mention orthotropic (laminates perhaps), then the paper below shows how to define those in apdl (commands). In the end of the day the GUI action is translated to an apdl command.

SubscriberAnsys help chapter on how to model composites (I assume you look at laminates), describes how to do that.
Â
Copy paste this into your help browser once you have opened ansys help.

SubscriberCut control is defines time-step cutback during a nonlinear solution.
CUTCONTROL,Â
Lab,ÂVALUE,ÂOption
Ex: cutcontrol,plslimit,0.15 (limits equivalent plastic strain limit to 0.15)Â -

SubscriberFor most problems default setting is fine.If you face errors specifying any default value is reached then play with that property alone.
For example if you were run faces error before 25 equilibrium equation you can increase the iteration alone and fire.
