Creating your own history variables

If I use a material model like MAT_15 and activate history variables with database_extent_binary I get access to additional variables like temperature change and the damage parameter. Is it possible to output a history variable not output by the material model? For example, is there a card where I could write a function to calculate shear modulus in each element and output this to a history variable for visualization in PrePost?

      Hi stokess1998,

Yes, you can output the history variables based on an expression using *DEFINE_MATERIAL_HISTORIES.

Please check the LS-DYNA MANUAL VOL 1 under the *DEFINE_MATERIAL_HISTORIES example 4 for user-defined expressions for more information.

      Cheers, Ram
