SubscriberHi,
Â
I am trying to define interior surfaces using MESH to do CFD simulation using FLUENT. These surfaces are going to be used as custom surfaces when simulation is concluded.
The issue is that when I create these in MEHS, they do not appear in FLUENT. Can you help me figure this out, please?
Â
Thanks very much,
Ali

Ansys EmployeeHello Ali,Â
One approach is to split the CAD into multiple geometries at locations where you want the custom surfaces. Make sure to use share topology so that no unnecessary mesh interfaces are created. After splitting, create the required named selections either in the CAD stage or in the meshing stage. When the mesh is now passed onto Fluent, these surfaces appear under the "interior" section.Â
Thanks,Â
Kalyan

SubscriberHi Kalyan, thanks for the reply. I will give it a try. through, that seems to be tricky with this package. I am working on Fluent (with Fluent Meshing) in parallel to that to see which one fits best. I will tick this as solution and if anything comes up, I post here.
 Thansk again,
Ali

Ansys EmployeeHello Ali,Â
Would be more than happy to assist you in case you run into issues. When you mean tricky with this package, which package are you referring to? I was intending that changes to be made in SpaceClaim/Design Modeler.Â
Thanks,
Kalyan
