Hello,
Currently I'm trying to make binary alloy, following this video. Â
But from my menu, I don't see binary one.
In this case, how can I make it?Â
For your information - I'm using Lumerical 2023 R2.3 version.
Â
Thanks,
SungminÂ

Dear Sungmin,
You can use the "ternary alloy" option to add a binary alloy.
Base materials that the alloy consists of can be either unary (e.g. Si, Ge) for binary alloys or binary compound (e.g. GaAs) for ternary alloys.
Best Regards,
Afroditi

Hello, I would suggest to have a look at the following links where they describe how to create new and binary alloys in Charge:
1. https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034919213
2. https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034398514-Tips-for-creating-a-new-alloy-material
In the materials tab you can find the following useful
If the material chosen from the drop down menu is a binary alloy consisting of two semiconductors, then there will be an additional property, namely, the "composition fraction" to set as well.
- COMPOSITION FRACTION: This is x, the fraction of the semiconductor in the alloy. x can either take a fixed value or vary.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Kind regards
Dimitris
