SubscriberHi I am using Ansys 18.2,
I have problem with core loss calculation in Maxwell (2D-3D) transient solver. I am trying to use Hysteresis model for core loss model for materials(such as steel 1008/1010.). I am entering related required parameters. (Hci, Br, Kc)
But I can not see the option "Defined in Material" as checked under dialog "Set Core Loss".

SubscriberHello Make sure you have set core loss for the required geometry using Maxwell 3D --> Excitation -> set core loss and selected the geometry. Also make sure you have imported the correct graphs in the material definition. May be you can use Power Ferrite core loss model and import the P_loss vs B at different frequencies provided by the datasheet of material and also its BH curve to get the results. There is a possibility that you have not assigned a material to object Rectangle1.

Ansys EmployeeHi, @smlbysl 18.2 is a bit old and we don't support this version any more. Could you try opening your project in a newer version and see how the core loss result goes?
For hysteresis core loss model, even if "Defined in Material" cannot be checked, as long as you check "Core Loss Setting", you will be able to get core loss in result transient report.
You can also check if your time step and stop time is too large compared with the period of your AC signal in your excitation, this can result in zero core loss in result.
