Converting shell to solid ansys ACP pre + layup on solid + acp meshing

Hi! I have a few questions regarding acp pre. 1) First, i am trying to make a solid composite shaft. I started with a shell and did my layup. As I want this to be a solid, I used the "create solid model" in the setup window. I can now see my layup, however when i go back to "model", it is still shown as a shell. I was wondering if there was any way to fully convert the shell to a solid, create a "named selection" for each ply, and have a mesh throughout the solid shaft (if not is there a tutorial that shows how to make a solid composite shaft starting from a solid cylinder in geometry? i cannot seem to find any, thank you). 2) Another issue i am having, which i believe stems from this, is that i have a solid mandrel, which the layup would technically be on. They have the same diameter, i want to match their meshes. I planned to do "match control" so that the mesh is the same and the nodes are placed the same. I tried doing this but i keep getting an error, assuming it is because i am trying to match a solid face with a shell face. 3) Lastly, as i have the solid cylinder and shell cylinder, the mesh is automatically done in acp pre. Does the user not have any control over which elements are used, can the mesh for each component not be customized say for size and element. Every modification seems to be applied to all the meshes present? Thank you, i appreciate any support!
