SubscriberHello there,
I am new to ANSYS WORKBENCH and I am trying to perform a static structural on a Part which has HYPER ELASTIC material (SILICONE RUBBER).
But the simulation doesn't end because of an ERROR : The solver engine was unable to converge on a solution for the nonlinear problem as constrained. Please see the Troubleshooting section of the Help System for more information.
So, I need help in solving the issue.
1. The part was designed in SOLIDWORKS and imported as a STEP file.
2. In the Static Structural analysis, the simulation should be doing the following:
a. The silicone part moves towards the wall and gets pressed over the fixed wall and the resulting deformation of the SILICONE RUBBER part needs to be observed.
b.
Meshing of the SILICONE RUBBER - PART:
Â
Â
Meshing of STEEL WALL: Set to default settings
c. ANALYSIS SETTINGS
d. FRICTIONAL CONTACT was set wherever contact is assumed to happen.
e. After letting it solve it, I face the ERROR . The solver engine was unable to converge on a solution for the nonlinear problem as constrained. Please see the Troubleshooting section of the Help System for more information.
So, instead of 50 mm of displacement it travels only for 7.67 mm.
Â
So, I kindly request you to help me in solving the error or with the procedure to achieve the desired Simulation.
Thanks and regards

SubscriberConvergence and nonlinear analysis is a big subject - I would suggest to search the forum for nonlinear convergence and you will get some advice (ofcourse if the elements are getting to deformed which they will then it is very difficult).
