Convergence issue

      Hi All,

I'm doing a structural analysis for an expansion joint and it gives me a convergence error in sec 2.6. The expansion joint consists of 20 steel plates connected together via frictional contact.

The analysis consists of 3 steps:

      - Pulling the expansion joint

      - Increasing the temperature

+ return the expansion joint to the original position

Error: 'The solver engine was unable to converge on a solution for the nonlinear problem as constrained.  Please see the Troubleshooting section of the Help System for more information.'

      Contacts are as below:

Whatever change I make in the model or contacts, it non-converges at 2.6. any insights on this please?

      Thanks

      Hi

There are many resources online about convergence issue.

Search the internet for convergence and ansys.
