SubscriberHello everyone. Please tell me.
I'm solving this in the Workbench Motion Module.
My model contains a gear train, a shaft, and a coupling. The coupling is a rigid body that rotates the shaft. My goal is to analyze the teeth on the shaft under a torque load.
I also added Contact Friction and Contact Properties to the problem with the basic settings. The solution time is 0.2 seconds, and the load is increasing. But the coupling penetrates the shaft when solving. How can this be fixed? It penetrates even if both bodies are made rigid. Increasing the stiffness in the contact settings didn't help. I used the factor and constant.
Thanks.Â

Ansys EmployeeHi,
First, try to increase the number of output steps under step control; this will write more result points for better visualization. Also try to change the stiffness factor to a much higher value. If that didn't work, then try the recommendations that are mentioned in the below documentation link for contact issues.

SubscriberThanks for the reply, sir.
I added a properties contact and increased the stiffness there several times. It didn't help.
