Hi,Â
I am trying to simulate a rectangular channel with heated surface. I defined constant temperature on heated surface. I use Semi Mechanistic Boiling model and primary and secondary phase is water and vapor respectively. In such a case, is it true to check the conservation of energy from "Reports-> Fluxes-> Total Heat Transfer Rate"?Regards

Yes, energy is transferred from the surface to the fluid. If you're then checking on the outlet Fluent should account for the latent heat in the reports.Â

Thanks for the answer. I simulate this boiling model for different surface temperature. When the surface temperature is 50 degrees higher than the saturation temperature, the total heat flux don't conserve(even though the solution converge). There is no such problem at previous temperatures. Is this due to an increase in the vapor fraction in the water? Maybe Fluent have a difficulty to solve while vapor fraction increasing. How can i fix it?

Where are you monitoring what?Â

I am monitoring Temperature at outlet, Heat Transfer between inlet and outlet, Heat Transfer on the heated surface, Vapor Fraction at outlet, Pressure drop between inlet and outlet.

Heat flux on external walls & flow boundaries ought to sum to zero assuming you've reached an equilibrium state. If you haven't you may need to monitor the energy in the domain too.Â
