Hi everyone,
I would appreciate your input on an issue I'm facing. First of all, I have no experience with Ansys. My
knowledge of structural FEM comes from lectures and is limited to individual components—no
complex models. I've already used the search function and looked through the internet but couldn't
find a solution, so I'm turning to the forum for further assistance.I have an external mesh without geometry on one side, and on the other, I have a beam model consisting
of both mesh and geometry. My first goal is to bring these two together, and based on my research, I was
able to do so, as shown in the first image. However, now I'm facing a problem:
I would like to connect the two meshes. My external mesh doesn't have direct interface points for my
beam model. Is it possible to add nodes in order to link the beam model to the external mesh?
In the next two images, I've illustrated how I envision the connection. The first image shows a section
of the mesh without geometry (aircraft fuselage) and the upper part of the beam model (seats), which
need to be attached to the ceiling. Ideally, this would be done using rails between the frames (in red),
and new nodes (in green) would need to be added along these rails.
The second image shows a section at the floor. Here, too, there are no suitable interface points in the
fuselage mesh, and the existing nodes (marked in purple) do not align with the beam model.
Back to my initial question, is it possible to add nodes to the existing mesh?
Are there any other potential solutions, or is this approach perhaps not feasible?Best regards,

Hello
Attempting to add nodes to the existing mesh is not practical.
It would be best to have a geometry of the fuelage so we can edit / imprint geometry, then generate mesh.
Can you obtain a geometry of the fuselage?
