connect to Spaceclaim / import scdoc files

      Hi,

Being new to AEDT, I am trying to start an Icepak project but bumped into the 1st obstacle: while I can correctly import geometry from a .step file, I cannot do it using any of the options "connect to Spaceclaim" or "browse Spaceclaim"... I get this error message:

What can the problem be? Thanks.

      Hi Miguel,

Thanks for asking questions on forum. Which version are you using? Is the version of AEDT same as SpaceClaim?

      Hi Iceman,

      Yes, both versions are 2020R1

Besides, I don´t have the Mechanical icon next to the Simplorer one in the ribbon...

I read in the help this is a beta option so, do I have to activate it somehow?

In SpaceClaim, can you move all parts out of components? There was a bug that causes import failure in older version when parts are inside componts. This bug has been fixed in latested releases. Also, Mechanical was not released yet in verison 2020R1. Can you upgrade to 2024R2? Thanks.

      Thanks for answering but:

      1. I tried with a file with no components (just solid parts):

The result is the same error:

      2. However, I must tell that I managed to activate Mechanical in the beta-options (still in 2020R1):

      ...

Hi Miguel, the error is saying that the part name is not acceptable. Can you remove all the Spaces in the part name? Maybe also remove all the Dots.

Beta version is not stable. It would be better to upgrade to the latest release. Thanks.

You are right! That was the problem and I could already fix it.

      Thanks Iceman!
