SubscriberHello,
I'm trying to simulate eddy current sensing coil. The modeling is shown below. The entire model dimesion is about 60mm and the sensor coil has thickness of 0.03556mm (1.4 mil).
But when I run the simulation, the conduction path is not generated properly and simulation is shutted.
So, I set on selection length based mesh operation at the bottom side of the coil as shown in the second picture. The maximum element length is set as 0.03mm but conduction path is not generated properly.
Should I use smaller maximum length like 0.01mm? I think this will lead too large computation time. Is there any solution for modeling or mesh setting?

Thank you.

Ansys EmployeeIf you are using a static solver such as the Eddy Current solver, the software provides an automatic mesh refinement feature that adjusts the mesh based on the specified number of passes and target percentage error. Assigning a very fine mesh to the entire model will significantly increase simulation time. Instead, you can create a vacuum region around the coil and apply a finer mesh operation only within that smaller region. This approach maintains accuracy where it matters most while keeping the overall simulation time manageable.
