We have an exciting announcement about badges coming in May 2025. Until then, we will temporarily stop issuing new badges for course completions and certifications. However, all completions will be recorded and fulfilled after May 2025.

Compute near field simulation with current

I want to inject a current source with a frequency as an AC current when simulating EMI near/far field. I would like to know what procedure I should use to inject the AC current.

I see the frequency dependent checkbox in the figure below, but I can't figure out how to apply it.

      Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Ansys learning forum.

Please let us know which Ansys Electronics tool you are using to help us serve you better. If possible please share some screenshots of your model.

      Best regards,

      I am using Ansys SIwave2023 R1.
What I want to simulate is Near/Far Field Simulation with a current of 6A at 24MHz.

      Hello,

In the screenshot you provided, you may put desired current of 6 amps as the magnitude  and then proceed to set-up frequency sweep in Near/Far field set-up (in the “Compute Near/Far field” pop-window” which is shown on slide 9 in the attached file. Here you will define frequency points of interest by defining your frequency sweep (or single points by adding another row to frequency range). Please see the screenshots below

This method show you the fixed 6 amp current at frequencies defined in the set-up, but if you are interested in having current dependent on frequency, then that’s when you will need to change from “Frequency Independent” to “Frequency Dependent” within your Set Current Source Properties window you are showing. In this case, you will need to define a .txt file that include data in .

      Regards,
