SubscriberI have 3 bodies. Two overlap and the other one not. I selected ALL of the bodies and tryied to combine them to get 2 disconnected bodies. However, when I click the combine button, only ONE body was left. How to get the two disconnected bodies?
This is a very simple case to mimic a complex model, in which some can be combined and some cannot. I do not want to lose any bodies and just want to reduce the number of bodies.

Ansys EmployeeHello,
If you just need two bodies, you can just try to combine only the overlapped bodies and inlcude the disconnected body in the named selections as well.

SubscriberI have a few hundred bodies. Many of them overlap but I do not know which they are. This is because they are very close to each other. By combining the overlaping ones, total number of bodies are reduced. More important is the small overlapped (body penetration) portion does not need to be meshed if they are merged.Â
I am doing CFD meshing, the meshing of contact surfaces is very computationally expensive. I only need the total volume of solids to extract fluid volume. This is the objective of my test.
Intuitively, the Boolean add should not lose any volume but my test shows volume missing. I am puzzled by this...
