SubscriberHello everyone,
I want do co-simulation using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for evaluating the flow and ADAMS for evaluating the drive mechanism. Does ANSYS FLUENT couple with ADAMS for doing co-simulation ? i couldn't find any documentation or course online. Does anyone know any documentation or free course ?

AdministratorHello No, as far as I'm aware - you cannot couple Ansys Fluent and ADAMS for a co-simulation. But, I think you may be able to do this analysis using Ansys Fluent and Ansys Mechanical.
If you can elaborate a bit more on 'Evaluating the drive mechanism" and provide me with some details, I might be able to share a few tutorials on how you might be able to leverage system coupling for your analysis (coupled simulation between Ansys Fluent & Mechanical).
Thank you.

SubscriberThank you Karthik for your response, i have a simulaton file for driving mechansim in ADAMS and i was hoping i could couple it with ANSYS which evaluate the flow and pressure. The interaction in the co-simulation is like the pressure force is evaluated from the CFD and then transferred to ADAMS that allows the calculation of contact travel. The travel is then fed back to CFD to evaluate the flow pattern and pressure build-up.

AdministratorHello Thank you for the response. Yes, you perhaps can look into External Data Transfers. This may help you pass the data between the two tools. System Coupling would most definitely not work for your case.
Also, apologies for the delayed response on this one.
I hope this helps.
