SubscriberHi everyone,
I am a new user of Ansys and I need help!
I have built in SPACECLAIM a basic module as part of my model (see figure 1) and I used circle pattern to create full structure (figure 2). However, while in single part beams seem to be in the right direction - orientation when I do the “circle pattern” beams don't follow the correct direction (see figure 3 – zoom of 2).
What am I doing wrong?
Please help me!!!
Thanks
Chara

Ansys EmployeeHi
Can you please add the screenshots inline in your post, because ansys employees are not allowed to download files.
Thank you

Ansys EmployeeHi
I have seen that this happens.
Try and go to prepare tab, align beams/change beam orientation tool, and select all beams that need to be aligned and there is an option to use a surface to align to - use one of your surfaces that suits best.
Or select all the beams, and use to rotate/orientation tool to rotate them 180 degrees or as needed.
That is the only thing I can suggest - thank you.

SubscriberSo if I align to a surface , the circle pattern will keep the alignment?
Thank you

Ansys EmployeeNot sure, but try. Aslo only align those beams that need it (so select only those)
Otherwise if it does not work ,select all the beams that need to be aligned, and use to rotate/orientation tool to rotate them 180 degrees or as needed.
All the best
Erik
