Ansys EmployeeOpen CMD Prompt and enter the following commands
set PATH=C:WINDOWSsystem32;C:WINDOWS;C:WINDOWSSystem32Wbem
"C:Program FilesANSYS Incv201reactionchemkinpro.win64binrun_Chemkin.bat" Pro
does this work ?
If not, enter the command
set
and post the output of it here.
Also, do you have an install.err file under C:Program FilesANSYS Inc  ?
Thanks,
Win

Ansys EmployeeI've never seen most of these Chemkin/Reaction related environment variables. Did you or your IT manually create them ?
I think we should try to remove them but you may want to back it up first.
Please also post the content of your install.err file

Ansys EmployeeBasically everything that has the term 'chemkin' or 'reaction' whether in the name or value, just remove them.
What was the installation package name that you used to install Chemkin ? My machine doesn't have any of these set and it can be launched fine.

Ansys Employeeok, as you see here, there is no environment variables for Chemkin or Reaction set. There might be something wrong during the installation on that machine and somehow the environment variables that were set only in the install wrapper were passed to be permanently set on the machine. Maybe, it's best you uninstall (using the uninstall.exe with 'run as admin') , check if there is any remaining environment variables and delete them. Then, reinstall again with 'run as admin'

Ansys EmployeeHmm. This is fine.
Can you post the screenshot of the error message again but make sure you expand the window so the entire error message can be seen ? Or if you can copy the text content of the error message and post it here, that would be good too.

Ansys EmployeeI've asked around about this and there are some thoughts
1. Chemkin is a java app ... Is Java installed on the computer and in the user's path? You can use the following commandÂ
set | findstr -i java
and post the output of it here.
Â
2. Chemkin may be having trouble creating its environment, which could result in .dlls not being located. Please use the following command
"C:Program FilesANSYS Incv201reactionchemkinpro.win64binrun_chemkinpro_env_setup.bat" > C:Tempchemkin_env.txt
and post the content of C:Tempchemkin_env.txtÂ

Can you install Oracle Java and make sure your Path environment variable has this in there
C:ProgramDataOracleJavajavapath
Does this make a difference ?

Ansys EmployeeI've consulted with developers. nHere are their comments and questionsnnThere can be incompatibility between some system dll on the machine and jni.dll in our install. nSome questions to ask the user are:n1) does the user have correct permissions to read/execute ckjni.dlln2) Is there a virus or malware software blocking execution?nnLet us know.n -

SubscriberHello tsiriaks,nIt has been awhile since I provided an update. I was trying to update this thread but your site was under maintenance so I couldn't update it. So I found out that this started after I installed Aspen 11. Then I reinstalled everything from scratch with Ansys 2019 R1 and Aspen 11. I didn't get the problem with Chemkin. At this point, we decided to keep using Ansys 2019 R1. nThank youn -

Ansys EmployeeHi lyip6,nThank you very much for the update. That's great find !nAspen 11 might have put some DLL's or files under Windows systems files directory, which inadvertently makes Chemkin use that same file and result in issue because it's not compatible.nIn any case, I'm glad it's working with 2019 R1. I will report back to developers in case they can check Aspen to see what causes the issue.nThank you.n -

SubscriberHi Array ,nThank you for this post as it helped us troubleshoot this issue. We have a setup which requires both ANSYS 2020 R1 and Aspen Plus 11 to be installed.nRemoving or renaming the specific DLL, C:\Windows\System32\svml_dispmd.dll, fixed this problem for us. This DLL is not needed in how we use Aspen Plus.nWe had a similar problem with Fluent several months ago and had to use a similar fix but with a different DLL.nProbably not possible, but it would be great to have an option that tells the ANSYS apps to ignore external libraries.nThanks!n
