Forum ModeratorAre you using 4k graphics? The Ansys tools aren't set up for that level of resolution.Â

SubscriberAnother issue with this PC is most of the time the simulation stops unexpectedly without showing any error in Ansys and the CPU usage drops from 60% down to 1% after a few hours of running the simulation. and as you can see this PC has 32 cores and 32 processors, whenever I ran the simulation it shows in another window that only 10 cores requested no matter how many cores or processors I assign for the job its always 10.
While when I run the same simulation on another PC ( 80 processors and 40 cores) it shows me 16 cores requested and It works much faster than the 32 core PC. The license is the same ( Ansys Academic Research).Â

Ansys EmployeeSo this chart is supposed to show real-time data during the solve ?
How do you submit the jobs to solve ? Do you use RSM or you use some remote tool (e.g., remote desktop) to connect to the machine, then solve it locally there ? and is it solved in foreground ?

SubscriberYes, it shows real-time data.Â
I don't use RSM. I use remote desktop connection and solve it locally in the foreground. -

Ansys EmployeeLet's focus on the plotting issue first.
As Rob's noted, there may be an issue with 4k monitor. Can you try reducing the resolution to be 1920x1080 and see if that makes a difference ?
