Changing Top Radius

      I have this simulation file and am trying to change the top radius of the "core_nw" InP truncated cone. However, even in layout mode it seems I cannot change this. Can you take a look at why that is and help me out? I want to change the top radius "r top" in "core_nw" from 0.04 to 0.075. Thanks!

      I am posting this here because I was told to, but I am not able to attach the relevant files here. It also seems that I can change values using an .lsf script but can't do it with the GUI (which is annoying).

      Not sure how this cone is set up, and what software is it for? and from which online example? if it is from FDTD/FDE/VarFDTD/EME, and you are using the structure group in the object library, you can open the group and modify the variables like this:

      If it is for CHARGE/HEAT/DGTD, and using planar solid, please refer the script in the website:

      you should be able to change the parameters:
      radius_bottom = 3;
      radius_top = 1.5;
      Please try, or post screenshots here.

      Ugh, this is why I emailed one of the Ansys staff, because I cannot attach .fsp files here. I think this needs to be fixed ÔÇö it would make it a whole lot easier than attaching screenshots that you can't interact with. Can I email you the file?

      If you have premium support, please send us your file, with subject indicating this post. Or if you can post the screenshots here, since Ansys employees are not allowed to open customers' files in this forum due to regulations and policies if you upload the file here. is there any helpful information in the previous reply?

      Not exactly, and it's hard to illustrate what is going on, just that in FDTD when I try to edit the core_nw object and the r top, then no matter what I try to change it to, and even after hitting "Apply", it goes right back to the previous value. But I think I figured it out. Seems that the entire setup was in the model's setup script.

      I guess you are right that it is from "model". Please check if it is true. "model" script dominates the groups' script.
