We have an exciting announcement about badges coming in May 2025. Until then, we will temporarily stop issuing new badges for course completions and certifications. However, all completions will be recorded and fulfilled after May 2025.

Changing medium from air to seawater

I am simulating an inductive power transfer system underwater and I want to compare coupling coefficients in air vs underwater. However, when I change the region to seawater, the coupling coefficient does not change at all, even when I increase the frequency. At higher frequencies, there should be magnetic field attenuation underwater that decreases the coupling coefficient, but the results do not mirror that. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might need to change?

      Hi,

      Please make sure

1.the permeability of air and sea water is correctly defined.

      2. the solution region is large enough.

      3. The mesh density is appropriate.

You can also run with smaller percent error to increase the accuracy. You can also link the mesh of one case to the other to ensure they have the same mesh when doing comparative study.
