SubscriberHi!
I got a mesh file that was made in Gambit. I have sucessfully imported it into Ansys fluent meshing. What I would like to do is to change the size of all the elements without redoing the existing mesh. Is this possible and if it is, how do I do it? The meaning of changing the size of the elements is to be able to preform a Richardson extrapolation.

Ansys EmployeeYou will need to define new sizing and then generate surface mesh and then volume mesh in Fluent Meshing.Â
Please check following video. In this video geometry is imported. You can import .msh file/ Please go through help manual for more detailsÂ

SubscriberThank you for replying! It the video it looks like they are rediong the mesh from sctratch in some points, that is not what I would like to do. Where do I find the new sizing you are talking about?
Regards,
JohannaÂ

Forum ModeratorIf you can read the existing mesh into Fluent you could use adaption to refine the mesh. Otherwise, you do need to remesh to change the cell sizes. Unless there's a misunderstanding in what we think you're asking?Â

SubscriberThere is no misunderstanding, I just did not quite understand at first. Ah, I did not know Adaption existed, this is what I need. Thank you for bringing that to my knowledge!
