SubscriberHi,
i am using Ansys CFX Postprocessing to export data from a transient centrifugal fan simulation. To extract only data from a specific 3D geometrical space for further postprocessing outside of Ansys, i import a Pointcloud with predefined points (csv file). In the next step i use the export option to select my desired variables and the Location (my previously imported Pointcloud). This works just fine, but as the Points in my Pointcloud do not match the exact locations of the nodes in the mesh within that region, some Interpolation has to be done in the background by Ansys. As there are multiple ways to do such interpolations my questions is:
Which Interpolation Method does Ansys Cfx Postprocessing use to return result data at points not specifified by the mesh nodes?
Thanks in Advance.

Ansys EmployeePlease look into the Chapter 12 in CFD-Post User's Guide and check the very first note.

SubscriberHello,
thanks for the fast reply. I checked the Ansys CFD Post user guide (that is available to me)Â Chapter 12, first note (on page 249). It states that missing data is loaded from the nearest full timestep. I was asking myself about interpolation in the geometric domain though, not timewise. I presume thats not the Note you were talking about?
Best Regards

Ansys EmployeeI am not sure which release you are using but please check the "CFD-Post Insert Menu" documentation
