We have an exciting announcement about badges coming in May 2025. Until then, we will temporarily stop issuing new badges for course completions and certifications. However, all completions will be recorded and fulfilled after May 2025.

Cannot access results of response spectrum

      Hello,

I am running a response spectrum analysis with CQC mode combination. The prerequisite modal analysis is running normally, the response spectrum starts to solve but stops a bit later.

There are no errors in the solver output file, the resolution stops just after the CQC mode combination file has been written. The only displayed error in mechanical when trying to evaluate results (such as maximum equivalent stress map) is : "Requested results are not available". However stress and nodal forces are well activated in the solver outputs of modal analysis. A .rst file is written in the solver file, but it is impossible to load the stress contour.

Do you see which kind of settings and/or resource limitation could explain this behaviour ?

      Hello,

With the CQC method, are you giving any damping values?

What happens when you give the ROSE or SRSS method?

Do you see a normal termination in the Solver output?

      Best,

      Akshat

Hello Akshat, thanks for your answer,

I've put a 4% damping ratio for CQC method.

I've tried both SRSS and ROSE method: I'm facing the same issue.

There is not a normal termination in the solver output (no end MAPDL statistics for instance showing that run has completed). Instead, the solver stops just after writing the .mcom file for mode combination.

There is a green tick for solution information of the response spectrum analysis in Mechanical, but not for the requested results.

      Thanks for your help,

      Best regards

      Hello,

Are you using SMP or DMP?

      Hello,

I am using SMP, but if I remember well I also tried DMP and that didn't solve my issue.

      Best regards,

      Barnabé
