Dear All,

I am absolutely new to Ansys, just half an hour ago installed a student version software and was trying to build a pressure vessel

I created an ellipsoidal head (by revolution an ellipsoidan arch) and I created a shell (by revolution a modified tapered rectangular ) in Desing Modeler (files attached). 

Though could not have these two merged (tapered section does not revolve) .... would you please advise what i did wrong...

Hey, If you are using student version. Try it in Spaceclaim rather than design modeler.

However if you want to use design modeler only, follow the same approach. It will work fine in DM too.
