Can FPGA be used to accelerate simulations?

  I mostly engage in simulation optimization related to RF MEMS devices in my daily work. These simulations require a long time and consume a significant amount of resources. I'm wondering if I can accelerate the simulations using FPGA or if there are other methods available.
